Highlighting Your Art through Staging

Mr. Edlen has an appreciation for art - and thusly, we have some pretty cool stuff hanging on our walls.

Since his thing is art and my thing is decorating, I decided to marry the two by highlighting this really rad piece we have in the dining room.

I made this warm and inviting little moment with just a few things I had sitting around the house
(bench and pillows from HomeGoods, throw blanket from Target).

In just a few quick seconds I added some fun color to the room and drew attention to the art on the wall - people have even asked me if the art was there before since they never noticed it until now. So booyaw, as they say. What do you think?

Some of the items in this post were compensated through a gift card by HomeGoods for the HomeGoods Happy Pinterest campaign. All opinions are my own. Thank you for taking a little stroll through my 'garden'!

Using Apothecary Jars as Vases

It's finally Spring!

After the bridal shower I threw last weekend, I had some leftover flowers to play with around the house.
I decided to throw them in an apothecary jar and I love how they look!

I've had these jars for a year and have always struggled to find a unique way to display them. What fun ways do you display your glassware around the house?

Roaring 20's Bridal Shower

This weekend I hosted a Roaring 20's themed bridal shower for my best friend.
Fun times were had by all - here's a few pictures from the party.

I framed the shower invitation as a keepsake for the bride and made a sweet little banner of the happy couple

Flapper Headbands for ALL!

Handmade Photo Booth Props

So the last picture was a documenting-the-moment-fail on my part. This is a sign I made for the front door where it looked super adorable, rather than how it looks here - half finished and on my kitchen counter - but oh well, still worth sharing.

It was a lot of fun crafting all these little projects, even though most were done with baby William in my lap - I guess I should give him some of the credit!
