Entering the Blogosphere

It may sound naive of me, but I really had no idea there were SO many blogs out there! One for every taste or interest, I could get lost in searching through blogs all day. What amazes and inspires me most is how some blogs are so so so popular. What with my measly 50 views a day (mostly from friends and family) I am so blown away by blogs that have literally THOUSANDS of followers. What an awesome community blogging can be!

To help my little blog along, I'm working on joining a few networking sites and doing all the research I can.

One site I found was Bloglovin - and I'm excited to get started!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

If anyone has any tips or suggestions for me, I'd love the input!

Oh and of course, thanks for reading!!!!

  1. Tips:
+Leave comments on other blogger's blogs (this not only helps you build relationships, but it gives you exposure/ visibility to their readers and will ultimately help with your SEO because Google will see that your URL is appearing on other sites than your own. It's really a win, win, win :)
+Make sure your blog is readable and SEO friendly. This might mean upgrading to a paid site so you can optimize your keywords (not sure if blogger makes you upgrade to use plugins... I know Wordpress does...)
+Download some sort of plugin that gives suggested posts after each post.
+Post original, high quality photos that people will want to capture, pin and retweet.
+Check out ProBlogger's tips for blogging. His blog about blogging is so so so helpful.

Don't stress about not having a ton of followers when you're first starting out. It takes months for Google to even recognize websites and for them to come up in search in the first place. Give it a little time and keep up the good work and the following will come! And in the mean time, enjoy the fact that 50 people care enough about what you have to say to come look at your site every day. Seriously, that's not something to be taken lightly!

On a side note, if you don't already read The Glitter Guide I think you should. You'd like their style. :)

    Hope this helps! :)
